We have been looking into some of the most radical statements and claims made by Jesus…focusing specifically on his most famous sermon, which includes what are known as the beatitudes. The principles in the beatitudes lay the foundation and express the very nature of the kingdom He had come to establish. We have called his kingdom and its principles… upside down…inside-out…backwards and counterintuitive…because that are not what we would expect…and…they are exactly the opposite of the flow of our culture. Today, focus your heart on this statement of Jesus: Matthew 5:8 NIV 8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Have you ever been to a fast food place and became frustrated because they forgot about the “fast” part? Or have you ever been to a Jiffy Lube type place for an oil change and the service wasn’t so “jiffy”. Or a One Hour cleaners that tells you they can’t have your stuff ready in one hour?
