Real life is like a treasure that has to be searched for. It’s hidden in Christ. There’s a hidden nature to the life that God has for you. And here’s what makes it hidden…it’s the opposite of what many of us intuitively think it is going to be. We have these assumptions of how we find true happiness or where we will find real life…but what Jesus says is just the opposite of our assumptions. The beatitudes are the clues that Jesus gives to help us find the treasure of a fulfilled and satisfied life…but every thing he says is backwards.
