CloseAdvent not only focuses on the salvation of man in the here and now; there is an intentional focus on the return of Christ the King in his Second Advent or Second Coming. When the Messiah comes He will heal us and our world in every way. Advent reminds us, if God can and will break into human history once to save us - like he did in that first Christmas - then he can break into our lives now to help and heal us. Our culture doesn’t know how to cure the evil and suffering that consumes it. And if we think that if we work hard enough, long enough, unified enough, we can fix it ourselves; then we are doing so foolishly. Biblical Christmas is honest because it doesn’t ignore the darkness. “the people who sat in darkness have seen a great light.”
