The Quest for Meaning

Every person is searching for meaning.

Every person is looking for something to tell them that their life is worth something. At the core of that desire is a Biblical truth: you matter, and your life has been designed to make a difference.

As counterintuitive as it feels, the Bible teaches that mattering in this life has very little to do with what we accumulate, achieve, or acquire. Mattering happens when a person knows they are valued and knows they have value to give.

This means that the answer to our search isn't found in what we store up for ourselves — it's discovered in what we give away.

Press In - Conflict Brings Laughter and Peace

Conflict is the key to laughter and peace. When we hear a funny joke, we experience conflict. Every time we laugh, we do so because of the conflict in the premise. The following is a neutral position, which won’t include laughter. Every time we hear a joke, this occurs A, B, and three. We would assume the series would be A, B, and C. However, the twist in the third part brings conflict. After we analyze it, we can see how the speaker got there. Finally, we realize that the number three fits in place of C. Here is how conflict is the key to peace as well. Conflict brings up emotions that make us try to justify how things should be versus asking the question, why is a particular situation bothering me? What is this coming up in me? Everything in life plays like this, and it’s an opportunity. If we let it, conflict can mean that we get to get better. It’s inevitable; life is going to bring you to these circumstances. Imagine being made out of wood, and there’s a doorway shaped precisely like you. And you’re supposed to walk through that doorway, but you have a knot that will not let you through. You don’t quite fit through the door, and life brings you people and circumstances that act like sandpaper to rub this knot down. What happens when you shy away from conflict? We invite you to watch this video and find out. Michael Jr. is one of the funniest guys alive, and he can do that in a wholesome way, which is not standard on the comedy scene. He is a multi-talented guy, not just a comedian but an actor. You’ve seen him in great movies, like the war room. He’s had starring roles in movies like “Selfie Dad” and productions like “Laughing on purpose” and “More than funny.” He’s authored several books, the most recent in 2021, funny how life works, and he has new material coming out.
