Abraham is considered “Father Abraham”...the “Father of Our Faith” because of the radicle obedience referenced here in Hebrews 11:8. Every follower of Jesus can trace their spiritual ancestry back to this single step of faith. We’re sitting here today as followers of Jesus because Abraham made that courageous decision to honor God with irrational obedience.
